Why a direct review link matters
When you ask a customer to "review us on Google", most will not search for your business, find the right listing, scroll to the reviews and click "Write a review". A direct link or QR code opens the review box in one step, so far fewer people give up on the way. Reviews also count towards how you rank on Google Maps for searches like "dentist near me".
Where to find your review link
- On a computer: search your business name on Google while signed in to the account that manages it. In the profile panel click Ask for reviews and copy the link.
- In the Google Maps app: open your business → Get more reviews → copy the link.
- Place ID: search "Place ID Finder" on Google's developer site, type your business name, and copy the ID that starts with
ChIJ.
How to ask so people actually do it
- Ask at the happiest moment: after the delivery arrives, the treatment ends, or the problem is solved.
- Send the link on WhatsApp within an hour; the message above is a good start, in Hindi or English as your customers prefer.
- Print the QR code on bills and at the counter with "Scan to leave a Google review".
- Reply to every review, good or bad; Google shows that you are active, and future customers read the replies.
- Never pay, discount or gate reviews. Google removes reviews and can suspend profiles for it.
Want customers to reach you in one tap too? Make a WhatsApp link and QR code for your Google Business Profile.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get my Google review link?
Open your Google Business Profile (search your business name on Google while signed in, or use the Google Maps app), click 'Ask for reviews' or 'Get more reviews', and copy the link. Paste it into this tool. If you prefer, find your Place ID with Google's Place ID Finder and paste that instead.
What is a Place ID?
A Place ID is Google's unique code for a location, usually starting with 'ChIJ'. Google's free Place ID Finder (on the Google Maps Platform documentation site) lets you search your business and copy it. The review link is https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_ID.
Can customers leave a review by scanning the QR code?
Yes. The QR code opens the review page directly; the customer only needs to be signed in to a Google account. Print it on bills, table stands, packaging and the counter, and ask at the moment the customer is happiest.
Is it allowed to ask customers for Google reviews?
Yes, asking is fine. What Google forbids is paying or giving discounts for reviews, asking only happy customers (review gating), and writing reviews yourself or through agencies. Ask everyone, the same way, and never offer anything in return.
How do I ask for reviews on WhatsApp?
Send a short, personal message with the direct link soon after the purchase or visit. The tool above writes one for you and opens it in WhatsApp, so you only need to pick the customer's chat.
